What is happening to the society?

In the last couple of decades the values in the society have get really bad. What is used to be bad for us now is normal. With the separation of church from the state, things have change dramatically. I have to accept that there is a bunch of great things that have been accomplished, but keeping the family together and when I say together I mean “the right way” should be the main priority; and we are not doing it. In the last elections our values were tested, the amendment 2 was put into the fire test and thank God we passed the test. This amendment protects marriage as the legal union of only one man and one woman as husband and wife and provides that no other legal union that is treated as marriage shall be valid or recognized. This is how it should be and people confirm it. I have nothing against the homosexual and bisexual community but when it come to put in their hands the lives of the next generation – our kids- it is not acceptable. That is the other side of the coin, if they are accepted as a legal union they will be able to adopt, therefore they will be in charge of taking care of kids. Imagine all the problems that kids will have thinking that they have two fathers or two mothers. Imagine all the issues that these kids will actually have in their behavior. Nature was created in a certain way and we should respect it. Once again I have nothing against them but it is what they do that I don’t like. I read in a book that History should become our guidance to live better. History has proved us that the family should be kept it as it was created, wife and husband. Remember our ancestors, they use to live more, better and happier. But the society now has created the homosexuality as a normal thing which at the end I believe is going to hurt us.

No child Left Behind: Effective or Useless?

The NCLB was a great program instituted by our president George W Bush in order to increase the education standards among the nation. This act looked like a great tool to improve the quality of the students, but years have proved that this program was not the best idea. The CNLB has a lot of weak points, holes in the system, and the actual focus is not the right one. The No Child left behind program was supposed to puts emphasis on determining which educational programs and practices have been proven effective through rigorous scientific research, Right! This program using a test system in which students are supposed to meet a standard; this results, will tell the teachers were the students will be located the next year. It is not a bad system, but the problem is that in the schools the only thing that principals and teachers are focusing is in making the students to pass this exam. They are not focusing in teach the students, they don’t want them to learn. What they want is to meet certain standards to get government funds. And this is why I think they are not correctly center; they are treating schools like a corporation. They are treating the Principals like CEO, in which whoever got the highest performance is the one that is going to get the highest bonus. A school is not a corporation, but a place to learn and to find what do you like. In addition, they want all the students to achieve academic proficiency at the same level, but they are not forcing some private high schools and home-schools to meet these criteria. These are some things that are not completely right with the system, I believe that this system should be revised, not everything is bad about it. The funds that they have for education are great as the flexibility that they have for parents to choose which school you want for your kid. Instead of removing they should see what is not working correctly and try to improve it in order to America get a better education.
