The Key for Success

The 2008 presidential elections have been quite interesting and unexpected. These elections brought new and brilliant candidates, contenders with fresh and new proposals for the American citizens. Hillary Clinton, John McCain and Rudolph Giuliani were great candidates but not enough to surpass Barack Obama. A person that in my opinion is one of most brilliant candidates we have ever had. This guy that came from a middle income family and still got accepted to Columbia University, a person that became the first African American in be the president of the Harvard law review. This man left his professional career to help the one who need the most and after that becomes a senator. That’s the candidate I want to be the president.
As a student that believes that capitalism and free market is the best way to have a powerful nation the thing that worries me the most and that I completely agree with Barack Obama is in the economic issues. The wages for the middle income population in the United States have remained flat while the cost of living has increased a lot. Healthcare cost for example has increased four times faster than wages. In the other hand the taxes for the wealthiest have decrease a lot while the middle class is struggling to make payments and to save money. For this reason I believe that Barack Obama’s platform is the best for our country, to start he is proposing $50 billion to jumpstart the economy, tax rebate and a tax cut for the working class which as a result will increase the consumption. For all that does not work how the American economy works, as we consume more the economy is going to grow more. He knows what he is doing; he wants to increase the consumption rate so the economy gets out of this crisis. In addition, he is planning to create a fund with the sole purpose of identify and invest in better manufacturing techniques in order to increase the marginal utility for our companies. In the other side Obama knows that oil prices is killing us and that we need to create alternatives energies, for that reason he is planning to invest 150$ billion over ten years in biofuels, hybrid technologies, low emission coal plants and wind energy that as for as a fact we have the greatest source of wind energy in the world. These are just a few topics of his economic policies. I believe this is what America needs; I believe this is the key to keep being the most powerful nation in the world.

Who Are You Following???

Wow, I got to admit that those that those videos pretend to be great videos!!! I actually took the time to see them all and I try to analyze what they stand for. They are very well documented with a very extensive amount of research, and the way this Guy/Girl is promoting his point of view is really appealing to our emotions. He is really appealing to the same insecurities that the majority of the population have. I haven’t live here that many years, but I already notice that there are plenty of doubts inside the American populations if is the government is playing fair or if the economic policies are choose to help the one who the needs the most. Religion, Politics and Economic issues have been around for centuries and is not a new discovery that people have always been arguing whether or not they have been honest with the population. I have to say that the Federal Reserve and the 9/11 arguments are not far to be true; human greed has no limits and the love for money and power has reach unbelievable levels. As he say “war means more money in somebody else pockets". In the other hand I can see a guy that does not believe in anything, I see someone that is frustrated with his life for the simply reason that he has no one to put his confidence in and he has not accomplish too much. I know that the actual world is not the greatest paradise but what do you gain in worrying so much if you are not going to be able to change anything. And that is their biggest issue, THEY CANNOT CHANGE IT. Somebody once says "If you cannot fight against your enemy join them" I am not telling you to be greed and hurt other people; what I am telling you is to find a way to take advantage of what is happening and do it. The amount of wealth and power that this people have is unbelievable and it will be kind of hard for us to change what is happening. Instead of been wondering whether or not the Federal Reserve is helping the wealthiest society, try to see how those policies can help you. Start working and see how you can improve your life. There is a part in the video that impact me the most. There is one part when a guy start talking about how ignorant we are, about how many books do we read, and about how many hours of television do we see in a day. And that makes see that us as humans just follow what other say or what other believe, and there is nothing bad with it. But try to follow people that have been successful and have reached what they want. The bible says "And the truth will make you free", but not the truth of what is actually happening because we are already aware of that; but the truth of how everything works and how to apply it in your life to be free and happy.

Affront the Consequences.

2004 to 2006 were great years for the American economy. A lot of people were happy; the majority of the population was making a lot of money. Being a realtor, broker or hedge fund manager was the sexiest and most desired jobs in the nation. The real state bubble brought a lot of prosperity for people that were in the middle income bracket. The unemployment was really low and Mercedes and yachts were a common thing among cities like Miami and L.A but as my grandpa said “the easy money doesn’t stay forever”. This year has not been the best for our economy; the unemployment has risen to 6.1%. More than 14 banks have either declared chapter 11 or merge with a bigger company. The prices of energy and oil have rise to unbelievable prices. And know we may get into a depression if the government doesn’t approve the bailout plan. And you may ask why? Why is this happening? Wasn’t everything fine a year ago? I believe that the main reason for this problem is the greed of the big corporations. If you start digging in the way they were doing things you may find that it was not the best way. These companies were issuing loans to people that they know they couldn’t afford it. Changes of income and liabilities in loans applications were something common. Speculation was another thing that kills us. How is it possible that a house will double its value in one year, how it is possible that people were buying 4 and 5 houses when they were making a 45000 a year. Leveraging which is making a loan base on the cash that you have was something else that affect us. Fund managers were loaning 4 or 5 times the capital that they have to work in order to produce more profits. This is just some examples of the reasons of our economic downturn right now. There are a lot of thing to mention but it will take an encyclopedia to name them. Saving and being organized is the best thing to be successful in life. These people want to become rich in 6 months and look what It happens to them and to the country. This should be a lesson for the future generations. This cannot happen again if we want to keep being the most powerful nation on earth.
